CARGO OVERVIEW

The Port of Gulfport has a solid reputation as the second largest importer of green fruit in the
United States and the third busiest container port on the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. In 2011 the Port
of Gulfport handled more than 2.2 million tons of cargo, in excess of 216,000 TEUs, which
represents a 3.2 percent increase over 2010.

Cargo Types

With 6,000 feet of berthing space, the Port of Gulfport is equipped to handle bulk, break-bulk,
project and containerized cargo.


Main Markets

Central America has traditionally been a main market for the Port of Gulfport. With the expansion
of the Panama Canal and the Port's $570 million restoration, the Port is ready to be of service to carriers across the globe.

Stevedoring Companies

The Mississippi State Port Authority has two stevedoring companies working on port premises, Ports America
and Stevedoring Services of America(SSA) both companies have many years of experience handling a wide
variety of cargoes striving for the highest performance in a safe, efficient manner.

Ports America Group is the largest American terminal operator, stevedore and vehicle processor with
operations in 50 ports and 97 terminals within the United States and Mexico. With a highly skilled and
trained labor force, Ports America has the experience and expertise to manage all types of cargo handling.
Handling over 12 million TEU, 2 million vehicles, 5 million tons of general cargo and 1 million cruise ship
passengers, Ports America has operations ranging from pure container terminals to “under the hook
stevedoring”. Operations also include bulk and break-bulk facilities, world-class cruise terminals,
intermodal facilities, and quality care roro handling.

Stevedoring Services Of America (SSA), with its affiliates, is the largest operator of cargo terminals in the
world. Headquartered in Seattle, Wa, SSA has both domestic and international operations ranging from
fully automated container terminals to inland warehousing and distribution centers.
In 1999, Cooper/T. Smith Stevedoring and SSA Marine formed an alliance known as CSA. CSA supplies labor
and equipment to operate warehouses, terminals, and stevedoring of both containerized and break-bulk
vessels. At the Port of Gulfport, SSA operates under SSA Gulf, Inc. and CSA. Commodities handled at this
